“Erik ten Hag will never do that and that’s why we love Amorim more”: Man United’s captain Bruno Fernandes has named ONE thing Ruben Amorim always do during the match that Erik ten Hag will never do

Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir lauded head coach Ruben Amorim after Manchester United’s FA Cup third round victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Turkey international was United’s hero of the hour in the capital, saving a Kai Havertz penalty to help the FA Cup holders beat the Londoners 5-3 on penalties after the contest had finished 1-1 after 120 minutes.

Bayindir also played a starring role in regulation time, saving a penalty to deny Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard with the scores level at 1-1. Arsenal had earlier drawn level when Gabriel cancelled out Bruno Fernandes’ brilliant opener.

United had to dig deep to set up a fourth round date with Leicester City at Old Trafford next month after having Diogo Dalot sent off for a second bookable offence two minutes before Gabriel’s leveller.

As well as saving two penalties, Bayindir also produced a terrific save to deny Declan Rice. Making just his fourth appearance of the season, Bayindir said United’s players must be ready whenever they are called upon before hailing the role Amorim is playing at the club.

“I just help my team,” Bayindir told BBC Sport. “I am working everyday. I am patient.

“I just want to help this great team. I want to make everyone happy for this great club. I’m working here everyday.

“If you are not playing it doesn’t matter. You have to be ready every minute, every second, if you are a Man United player you have to be ready always.

“[Ruben Amorim] is talking with us everyday and he wants to help us. We love him and he’s always trying to do his best. He has a very good relationship with the players and we are trusting him, he is trusting us. We are fighting together.”
