[3-4-3]: Amad returns, Onana dropped and Bruno as a striker- Manchester United’s predicted lineups against Manchester city as Ruben Amorim confirms three major changes ahead of the key fixture

Manchester United will be aiming to return to winning ways against Manchester City in today’s Premier League derby.

The Red Devils suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest on the road on Tuesday evening.

United had better chances in the game but could not find the back of the net over 90 minutes.

Manager Ruben Amorim will expect a stronger performance in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are eyeing their first league double over the Cityzens in five years.

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Predicted Line-up:

Andre Onana could have done better to deny Anthony Elanga’s early goal at City Ground. However, the goalkeeper did make a superb save in the second half.

The Cameroon international is expected to start between the sticks.

There could be an enforced change in the backline with Matthijs de Ligt possibly injured. In his pre-match presser, Amorim said that he was a major doubt to face the Cityzens.

United insider Sully has revealed that the 25-year-old picked up an ankle injury against Forest and won’t be risked without the club knowing the extent of the setback.

In that case, Harry Maguire should come into the central defence alongside Leny Yoro and Noussair Mazraoui.

Maguire dominated Erling Haaland in the reverse fixture, but he faces a different opposition in Omar Marmoush this time with the Norwegian out injured.

Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu are expected to start in the right and left wing-back positions.

Dorgu had a tough outing against Forest, but should get the nod in the XI. The Dane has no competition with Luke Shaw yet to be deemed fit for a comeback.

We anticipate one of Casemiro or Manuel Ugarte to drop to the bench. Casemiro had a good outing in midweek but his reduced mobility could see him make way.

Bruno Fernandes should drop into a deeper midfield role alongside Ugarte for the derby. The Portuguese has six goal contributions in his last three league appearances as a number eight.

Mason Mount could be poised to make his first start since his injury return. The England international could be accompanied by Joshua Zirkzee in attacking midfield.

We anticipate Rasmus Hojlund to lead the attack. Alejandro Garnacho was not at his best attacking wise on Tuesday. He could be introduced off the bench by Amorim.
