Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a move for Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo as an alternative to their top targets, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.
A right-sided forward is a priority for all three teams and Cherries star Semenyo has now emerged as a target during the window.
Semenyo Eyed as Mbeumo Alternative
Bournemouth want at least £65m
Man Utd and Newcastle were expected to go head-to-head for the signing of Brentford star Mbeumo, before he revealed his preference to move to Old Trafford to knock the Magpies out of the race.
Tottenham have now reportedly entered the race for the Cameroon international, however, after Thomas Frank was appointed as manager, and that has left Man Utd eyeing alternatives as a result.
Semenyo, who has been described as ‘deadly’, had a stellar campaign for Bournemouth in 2024/25 as he netted 13 goals and registered six assists in all competitions, and that form has seen the Ghana star linked with a move away from the Cherries.
However, GIVEMESPORT sources have been told that they won’t be easy to negotiate with for Semenyo as they want to keep him.
The seasiders are looking at the values of Mbeumo and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze as a benchmark for any talks that may take place, and it’s believed they intend to hold out for at least £65m if they’re to let the 25-year-old move.
After facing interest in their manager Andoni Iraola having narrowly missed out on European football in 2024/25, the club are battling with the prospect of their squad being picked apart by rival clubs.
Defender Dean Huijsen has already joined European giants Real Madrid after they triggered his £50m release clause, while left-back Milos Kerkez is on the verge of a move to Liverpool to join the Premier League champions.
There is also reported interest from European champions Paris Saint-Germain in centre-back Ilia Zabarnyi, while clubs have also shown a liking for attackers Marcus Tavernier and Justin Kluivert.
