Maria Sakkari saw a big drop in the world ranking list. Paying for her injury at the US Open and missing the Guadalajara tournament (which she won last year), the 29-year-old dropped eight places from last week and dropped to No. 17 in the world rankings for the first time in years. Poland’s Iga Swiodek remains firmly at the top of the world rankings.
The top ten is as follows:
1. Iga Sviatek (Poland) 10,885 points
2. Arina Sabalenka (Belarus) 8,716
3. Jessica Pegula (USA) 6,220
4. Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan) 5,871
5. Jasmine Paolini (Italy) 5,348
6. Coco Goff (USA) 4,983
7. Qingwen Zheng (China) 3,920
8. Emma Navarro (USA) 3,698
9. Danielle Collins (USA) 3,178
10. Barbara Krejcikova (Czech Republic) 3,161
….
17. Maria Sakkari (GREECE) 2,517
