Ronaldo scored two goals against Poland in the kalasserie on Friday. But ahead of tonight’s match against Croatia, the national team manager has chosen to sit without Cristiano Ronaldo.
Portugal are already group winners in the Nations League. They have 13 points after five games before the last group game on Monday evening. Croatia are number two with seven points.
Portugal’s coach Roberto Martinez has chosen to rest several star players, which could give Croatia an advantage in the upcoming match, reports one of Croatia’s biggest newspapers Mr. Jutarnji.
Bruno Fernandes is also out, while Fabio Silva starts on the bench.
There are a total of seven changes to the Portuguese team since Friday.
Poland and Scotland meet in the second match in group 1. The match starts at 20:45.
Norway won their group after the big win over Kazakhstan at Ullevaal on Sunday evening, when Erling Braut Haaland scored three goals. Alexander Sørloth and Antonio Nusa scored one each.
