Hungarian national team: Adam Salai is in a stable condition, he sent a message from the hospital

The pitch froze while Holland-Hungary was underway as the former Hungarian player and assistant coach collapsed to the ground and was rushed to hospital. Adam Salai, who regained consciousness immediately, is now out of danger, as announced by his country’s federation.

“Adam Salai felt unwell in the first minutes of the Netherlands-Hungary match, however his condition is stable and he is conscious. He was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Amsterdam for examination,” the relevant information said.

He then wanted to thank the world for his support, confirming that he is in good condition and his treatment is progressing smoothly. The 36-year-old played for the national team from 2009 until 2022 and during that time he scored 26 goals in 86 games in all competitions. He retired from active duty last July after a busy career at club level and has since taken up a new role with his country’s national team.

The incident greatly upset the Hungarian national team, with Dominik Somboslay breaking down in tears until Salaj was found alive and carried off the pitch.
