Greece national basketball team: At Gatwick Airport at the time of evacuation – “Awaiting instructions”

As informed by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (EEC) “while the delivery of the luggage was being completed, the security officers ordered the evacuation of the airport, which was carried out in an orderly and calm manner and at this time (13.00 Greece) the mission of the team is outside and awaiting instructions on what to do next”.

For its part, the airport has informed that:

“The safety and security of our passengers and staff remains our top priority. We are working hard to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Gatwick Airport will be out of service until further notice.

This is because the police and emergency services are dealing with an incident at the airport.

The station and airport are currently being evacuated while police deal with an incident. We would recommend delaying your trip until later,” the airport said.
