In each series, racers can earn a maximum of 26 points. A total of 25 points are awarded for victory plus one point for the holder of the fastest lap. At the Qatar GP, there were an additional 8 points due to the sprint race taking place.
With so many points still available, Norris’s chance of winning the world title is actually still open. To bring the competition to Qatar, the British-Belgian racer must be able to earn four more points than Verstappen at the Vegas GP.
