The game of football continues even during rain and the same was happening here but then during the match, lightning fell from the sky and many players got hit by it. One player even lost his life in this accident.

Tragic accident in live match in Peru

During this match being held in Peru, it started raining heavily, after which the referee asked the players to stop the game and come out of the field. The players were leaving the field but suddenly lightning fell from the sky and 39-year-old player Jose Hugo de la Cruz Mesa was hit by it. Mesa was struck by lightning and killed on the field itself. Mesa’s fellow players also got hit by lightning and got badly burnt. These players were immediately taken to the hospital.

Another player’s life in danger

Mesa has lost his life but now the life of another player is in danger. According to reports, goalkeeper Juan Choka is also badly burnt in this accident and is admitted in the ICU. If reports are to be believed, this match was canceled after the accident.

Before Peru, such an accident had also happened in India. This year, three hockey players had died due to lightning in Simdega, Jharkhand. Five more players were burnt in this accident. All these players were standing under the tree to protect themselves from the rain.
