On October 22, five people were killed and several were injured in shooting during a football match in Jamaica. Police shared this information. Police told reporters that the shooting took place late Monday night during a match in the capital of Kingston. Kingston Eastern Police Chief Superintendent Tommy Chambers said that the shooting incident occurred at 8 pm. Chambers said seven people were shot and five died, four of whom have been identified. However, it is not known how many people have been injured in this firing. Police is investigating the reasons for the firing. The Jamaica Observer Online has quoted that this place has been a victim of violence in the past as well.

According to Jamaica’s Gleaner newspaper, the football match was being held in Pleasant Heights, which has been plagued by violence in the past. Following the shooting, police imposed a 48-hour curfew in the area. Chris Gayle was born in Jamaica.
