Coco Gauff wins WTA Finals singles title, defeats China’s Zheng Qianwen

Riyadh : World number three American tennis player Coco Gauff won the WTA Finals title by defeating China’s Zheng Qianwen in the women’s singles event. Coco Gauff won her first WTA Finals title by defeating Olympic champion Zheng Qianwen 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 in the match played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

This is the first year-end championship title of his career. Taking advantage of Zheng’s slight nervousness at the beginning of the match, Gauff tried to break the Chinese star player’s serve in the opening game. But Zheng regained her momentum and broke Gauff in the eighth game and then held serve in the next game to win the first set 6–3.

Gauff fought back in the second and third sets and overcame the setback to win the ninth WTA Tour singles title of her career. Gauff won the second set 6–4 and the third set 7–6 in a close fight.
