“I’ll resign if they sign any striker other than him…He’s the only striker I really want here”: Manchester United’s coach Ruben Amorim has threatened to leave the club if they failed to sign him his preferred striker

Manchester United want to sign Victor Osimhen and Matheus Cunha in the summer, according to a report.

The Red Devils will have to strengthen their frontline in the upcoming transfer window. Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have shown themselves to be unreliable strikers, leaving Man Utd short of proven options up top.

The well-known problem that Man Utd face, of course, is the fact that they are strapped for cash. With Profit and Sustainability concerns looming over the club, there are major doubts as to whether the Red Devils will be in a position to spend big on summer signings.

Indeed, head coach Ruben Amorim has repeatedly stated that Man Utd will have to sell to be able to buy, which is worrying considering that the only truly valuable assets they have are fan favourites like Bruno Fernandes, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho.

Despite this sad state of affairs, Man Utd’s recruitment department is busy drawing up ambitious summer transfer plans in the event that a financial reprieve appears.

Man Utd want to sign Osimhen AND Cunha
According to GIVEMESPORT, Man Utd would ideally like to sign not one but two reliable forwards in the summer. To that end, they are exploring the feasibility of a move for Victor Osimhen and Matheus Cunha.

Both players are fitted with €75 million release clauses, which means that signing them would require an eye-watering outlay of €150m. That’s a lot of money on just two players when Man Utd’s problems run much, much deeper than merely the No.9 position.

There are major doubts over whether Man Utd will be able to attract and afford Osimhen considering that they are expected to be without Champions League football. Additionally, the Nigerian is not budging from his hefty wage demands.

Nevertheless, the report claims that the 26-year-old is Man Utd’s ‘primary target’ and that they are ‘tempted to make a move for Cunha’ once they’ve managed to secure the signing of Osimhen.
