“Arsenal is an amazing team but if Ruben Amorim start this particular player against them then here’s my Prediction”: Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has dropped his Prediction for Manchester United vs Arsenal match

Arsenal take on Manchester United in the Premier League at Old Trafford next.

This is one of the most iconic fixtures in English football history. We have seen some incredible games between the two sides over the years, and it is a clash that fans still look forward to.

Manchester United are not the club they once used to be anymore, but they have shown they can beat Arsenal – they did it with 10 men in the FA Cup this season.

On Sunday, the Red Devils will want to do it in the Premier League, but the Gunners will be seeking revenge too after getting knocked out in the cup.

Paul Merson has shared what he thinks will happen in the game on Sunday.

Paul Merson predicts Manchester United vs Arsenal result

Arsenal have beaten Manchester United in each of their last four meetings in the Premier League.

The Gunners are unbeaten against teams in the traditional top six in 18 games, and they will likely go into the clash at Old Trafford as the favourites to extend that run.

United won their last game in the Premier League, but they dropped points in three of their previous four. They have less time to rest as well as they played in the Europa League on Thursday – Arsenal played their European game on Tuesday night.

That has convinced Merson that Arsenal will get the better of the Red Devils when the two sides face each other at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Merson wrote on Sportskeeda: “If we were talking about this fixture 10 years ago, what a game. But still from a fans perspective, this is still one of the biggest games in English football.

“I worry for Manchester United if I’m being honest. I can’t imagine them blowing Real Sociedad away in the Europa League and then quickly shifting full focus to this game.

“I’d be shocked if Arsenal don’t win. Their qualification to the Champions League quarter-final is sealed thanks to the 7-1 first leg win and they can now have a real go here. That makes this a dangerous game for United.

“Arsenal have to keep winning every single game from now on and hope Liverpool slip up. Historically, Manchester United have always turned up for games against Arsenal. But honestly, I don’t see them doing it this weekend!

Manchester United already know the best way to beat Arsenal

Arsenal are better than Manchester United at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that the Red Devils cannot beat them on Sunday.

PSV Eindhoven showed on Tuesday night exactly what a team should not do against Arsenal.

The Dutch giants were open and tried to play expansive football, and that was exactly what Arteta and his players were looking for. Arsenal absolutely battered PSV and won 7-1.

On Sunday, if United try to go toe-to-toe against Arsenal, they will get destroyed, even though the Gunners don’t have a recognised striker.

The best way to approach the game would be to stay compact, frustrate Arsenal and then hit them on the counter-attack.
