FIVE-YEARS TRANSFER AGREED: Another Premier League’s top player agree to join Manchester United despite the club’s disastrous season

Manchester United target Liam Delap is listening to interested clubs’ proposals ahead of a move this summer, Fabrizio Romano has told GIVEMESPORT on the latest episode of Market Madness.

Delap is one of several strikers on the club’s shortlist this summer, with a number nine a priority for the struggling Red Devils. The English striker is available for £30m due to a release clause that came to fruition after Ipswich Town suffered relegation.

The 22-year-old has been in fine form this season despite the Tractor Boys battling relegation, and he knows United’s technical director Jason Wilcox from his time at Manchester City. But Ruben Amorim’s Reds aren’t the only club interested in keeping him in the Premier League, with Chelsea also in the picture.

Romano: Man Utd-Linked Delap Hearing Clubs Projects

The Red Devils have a shortlist of strikers

Manchester United’s recruitment plan for the summer rested on their performance in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur. They suffered a 1-0 defeat, ruling out Champions League football next season, which could be consequential.

Romano gave an update on Delap’s situation and suggested the ‘unplayable’ centre-forward has held talks with United and others:

“Liam Delap is hearing clubs’ projects and trying to understand what’s the best opportunity. So I don’t know how quick it will be (a decision over his future), but for sure, the player is already preparing for his move, because there is interest from Man United.”

Sporting CP frontman Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with the Red Devils since Amorim arrived in November. The Swede is Europe’s top goalscorer and is inevitably also on the club’s wishlist, with his former coach making him a preference.

Romano alluded to the club’s options:

“But he’s not the only striker on the list, there are more options. So for Man United, I would keep the situation open, because United have several opportunities, also based on what happens with Champions League football or not.”

United won’t be in Europe altogether next season despite sitting 16th in the Premier League with one game remaining. This could prevent some of their targets, including Gyokeres, from desiring a move to Old Trafford. Gyokeres is thought to want to play in Europe’s elite club competition.
