NOT FOR SALE: Arsenal rejects £231M offer from top European club for their superstar, warns they won’t sell even for £1bn

Arsenal are now closing in on their last game of the season, facing relegated bottom club Southampton on Sunday.
The Gunners have already wrapped up second place after defeating Newcastle United last weekend, and this game has little more than ceremonial value.
But the Gunners will want to go out with a bang ahead of what will be an interesting summer. Mikel Arteta is going to have to deliver trophies sooner rather than later given the level of investment the club has executed in recent times. In the meantime, we have rounded up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the Emirates Stadium.
Nwaneri ‘concern’
Arsenal are said to be concerned about the future of Ethan Nwaneri, who is reportedly attracting plenty of interest. The versatile youngster has a contract until the summer of 2026, and it’s reported that despite talks, the Gunners are not close to striking a deal.
The report comes from TBR, who say Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and others are circling in case Nwaneri does not commit his long-term future to the club. Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig and Barcelona are also said to be interested, with the 18-year-old one of the brightest young talents in football.
Arsenal will be desperate to get a new deal over the line, and it’s likely Nwaneri will likely remain responsive to talks going into next season, giving them time to agree terms before another club swoops in to try to turn his head.
Kiwior exit all-but blocked
Arsenal will reportedly all-but block Jakub Kiwior’s exit from the club this summer. The defender has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, which should come as no surprise. Kiwior was linked with an exit last summer, and that was followed by a lack of appearances for the Poland international in the first three quarters of the season.
Kiwior did get more regular opportunities, but they didn’t come until Gabriel Magalhaes was ruled out of the last couple months of the season. But Kiwior did do a good job of covering, and with Arsenal needing depth at centre-back, it seems Arteta will all-but block a move for the versatile defender. Football Transfer report that Arsenal are asking for £60million to sell Kiwior, which would surely take him off the market. How the player will respond to that remains to be seen.
Gyokeres speaks
Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres has been speaking about his future again, albeit he continues to refuse to answer to transfer links. Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for the physical frontman, but there are going to be clubs aplenty in for his signature, owing largely to an affordable release clause reportedly worth around £60million.
Speaking this week, Gyokeres said: “Hopefully you can expect I keep improving and score goals. We’ll see. It’s the future. Football is like that, you never know what’s going to happen. As we saw this season, you never know what’s going to happen. And it’s the same thing now. We’ll see what the future holds.”
