DEAL SIGNED: Manchester United’s long-term transfer target signed six-years contract with the club after completing his medical this morning

Manchester United could receive another setback in their pursuit of a lethal centre-forward.

According to reliable journalist Ben Jacobs, Saudi powerhouse Al-Hilal have now reached a verbal agreement with Napoli for Victor Osimhen and are ready to trigger his €75m release clause.

Al-Hilal want an answer before the Club World Cup and are expecting clarity within 24 hours.

Napoli-owned Osimhen enjoyed a stellar campaign on loan with Galatasaray, netting 37 goals.

Victor Osimhen is poised for Saudi transfer
United are hunting for a proven striker after struggling to score goals last season.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to make the number nine position their own.

Manager Ruben Amorim needs a new centre-forward in his squad this summer.

However, he would have instantly added the firepower that United are currently lacking.

His arrival would have guaranteed United at least 20 goals per season.

Matheus Cunha has already made his way to Old Trafford from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

United could now make a serious attempt to sign Viktor Gyokeres after setbacks in their pursuits of Osimhen and Delap.
