Deal Completed: Manchester United completes the move to sign world-class striker as the star joins the Reds after bidding farewell to fans

Manchester United have reportedly “made enquiries” over a move for Roma ace Evan Ndicka this transfer window, according to RMC Sport.

The Red Devils are in need of defensive reinforcements this summer with neither of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof expected to renew their contracts that expire in the summer of 2025. Lisandro Martinez also remains sidelined with a long-term injury.

Having missed out on European football for next season, boss Ruben Amorim and his entourage must look to carefully manage their transfer budget and so they may look to target an affordable option such as Ndicka in a bid to bolster at the back.

United Eyeing Move for Ndicka

The Ivorian enjoyed a strong season with Roma

As per the report from RMC Sport, United are interested in a move for Ndicka, who Roma value at the €40 million (£34 million) mark. Tottenham are also in the race to land the 25-year-old as well.

A product of the Auxerre youth academy, Ndicka made his first forays into European football with Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt. He quickly became a first-team regular, and he played an important role in his side’s Europa League triumph in 2022.

Frankfurt opted against renewing the centre-back’s contract in 2023, and he joined Roma as a free agent. He has since made 63 senior appearances for the club, and has amassed 20 appearances for the Ivory Coast national team.

A left-footed defender, Ndicka could be a useful tactical piece for Amorim, who currently only has Martinez as an option in that regard. Moreover, the “phenomenal” French-born man is a towering threat, standing at 6-foot-4.
