DONE DEAL: Manchester United set to announce a shocking transfer signing as superstar joins on Six-years deal

Fabrizio Romano is “99% convinced” that Manchester United would have closed a deal to sign Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres if they won the Europa League.
United manager Ruben Amorim is a well-known admirer of the Sweden international and fresh contracts have been made about bringing him to Old Trafford during this summer transfer window.

A deal is complicated financially
Having missed out to Chelsea on a deal to sign Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap, it appears as though the Red Devils are turning their attentions to Gyokeres in their search for a new centre-forward this summer.
Romano revealed in a column for GIVEMESPORT on Sunday that United had made recent contact and held new talks for the 27-year-old, with a big-money deal becoming more complicated after Amorim’s men were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final and subsequently missed out on Champions League qualification.
Had they won against Spurs, Romano believes that a deal for the former Coventry City man was all but set to be confirmed with United confident of a deal.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on Monday afternoon, the Italian journalist said:
For Man United, we have to see financially how they can make it happen.
With Champions League football, I’m 99% convinced that they were going to close the [Viktor] Gyokeres deal quite quickly. I think that was the feeling. Then no Champions League football.
They lost the final in Bilbao, and so it’s more complicated financially. But for Viktor Gyokeres, Man United called again, so let’s see if they will be able to make it happen. But there were new contacts with the agents of the player.
