Deal Signed: European striker has finally completes medical to join Arsenal as the Gunners are set to make a major transfer announcement

Earlier this week, we covered claims from Spain which stated Arsenal are showing interest in Athletic’s Nico Williams.
Saturday’s edition of Sport mentions both Arsenal and Bayern Munich when covering the 22-year-old’s desire to join Barcelona.
Williams’ agent Félix Tainta had a meeting yesterday with Deco in Barcelona to find out the possibility of him moving to the Camp Nou this summer.
The forward has several offers, and the La Liga club want to renew his contract. He wants to know Barcelona’s plan for him before deciding the next step.
Williams has a €62m release clause and behind the scenes, ‘real moves have started’ as both Arsenal and Bayern Munich have knocked on his door.
Sport state the Gunners and the Bundesliga winners are willing to pay his clause and offer him a ‘high contracts’, meaning high salary, to convince him. The Spain international’s desire is to stay in his country and move to Barcelona, provided they are keen.
The La Liga winners wanted Williams last summer, but the move fell through, and Sport indicate it’s unlikely to happen this summer.
Barcelona’s priority for the attack is Luis Díaz and are aware it won’t be easy to take him away from Liverpool. They will only sign him if the price suits them are also looking at other candidates.
On Williams, Sport state: ‘There’s no doubt that Barça likes Nico, although they understand that the player missed an opportunity last year, and it remains to be seen whether the Blaugrana club will open the door to him again.
Nothing is impossible because the player’s quality is indisputable, he has a fixed price, and he would integrate perfectly into the Blaugrana dressing room. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.’
This may give Arsenal and Bayern hope of signing the attacker this summer.
