Done Deal: Manchester United finally completes the deal to sign a top-quality striker who’s very aggressive in front of goal- Medical completed, deal Signed and official announcement is today

Manchester United are one of the most historic clubs to be playing in the Premier League but their last couple of seasons have left a lot to be desired.

The Red Devils and Ruben Amorim have a huge summer ahead of them where they need to get their transfer business spot-on.

There are a lot of areas in the squad that need reinforcing this summer and no position is more important than a new striker.

One of Amorim’s biggest issues last season was the lack of goalscoring from their designated number nines and the Portuguese tactician needs to ensure that doesn’t happen again.

Among the many number nine targets that Man Utd have, one of them is Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic. The Siberian striker has spent his last few seasons with the Old Lady, leading the line and regularly chipping in with goals despite a continuous merry-go-round of managers at the Italian club.

It has been evident for quite some time now that Man Utd are interested in Vlahovic and would love to bring the £47million striker to Old Trafford.

While he might not have always been consistent during his time at Juventus, one thing that the number nine would add to the Red Devils is the know-how of where the back of the net is.

Now, as per Italian outlet La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Juventus are interested in signing Man Utd outcast Jadon Sancho and are willing to consider a swap deal that would see Vlahovic move the other way.

It would kill two birds in one stone for the English club as they get a player they want while moving on someone who doesn’t have a place in the team anymore.

At 25, the Serbian is at the perfect age to explode and increase his goal scoring numbers. He is yet to enter what is usually considered the prime years of a striker and although he may have only scored 16 goals across all competitions last season, that could change for Ruben Amorim’s team.

One would have to assume that if Man Utd do make a move for Vlahovic, they will also be looking for a way to shift out one of either Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee, either on a loan move or a permanent transfer.

The Dutchman showed promise last season and if the axe was to fall, it may be the Dane at the receiving end of it.

It remains to be seen how things play out with regards to this particular transfer saga and if Man Utd make a concrete attempt to sign Vlahovic.

Juve’s interest in Jadon Sancho could go a long way in enabling this deal. Let’s wait and see how the negotiations pan out in the coming weeks.
