BREAKING: Manchester United completes £150million striker’s signing as the star joins on Six-years contract

Manchester United are edging closer to the signing of Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, talkSPORT understands.

Talks between the two clubs over a deal worth more than £60million are progressing.

United ideally want to confirm Mbeumo before returning for pre-season on July 7.

The Cameroon international has already agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.

Mbeumo stands to pocket a whopping £250,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

Incredibly, that is five times his current salary at the Gtech Community Stadium, where he takes home £50k on a weekly basis.

With the 25-year-old having just one year left on his contract in west London, Brentford know this summer would represent the best chance in getting the best deal for him.

He recently enjoyed the most productive season of his career to date to help Brentford seal tenth spot in the top-flight.

Featuring in all of the west London outfit’s 38 Premier League matches, he chipped in with 20 goals and seven assists.

Since joining from Troyes in 2019, Mbeumo has banged in 70 goals in 242 matches for the club in all competitions.

Mbeumo will represent a club record sale for Brentford, who are set to appoint Keith Andrews as Thomas Frank’s replacement.

talkSPORT understands the Bees are looking for an experienced coach to work alongside Andrews.

And Mbeumo may not be the only high-profile departure at Brentford this summer, with skipper Christian Norgaard facing an uncertain future.

talkSPORT understands Arsenal have made a bid to sign the 31-year-old, who only signed a new deal in March.

Meanwhile Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on the Denmark international as Frank eyes up a reunion with his compatriot.

After Mbeumo arrives – and having already paid Wolves £62.5m for Matheus Cunha – United will turn their attention towards recruiting a number nine for boss Ruben Amorim.

Sporting Lisbon marksman Viktor Gyokeres is believed to be on the Red Devils’ radar.

Gyokeres, who is also wanted by Arsenal, worked with Amorim at Sporting, with the duo winning the Primeira Liga title together in the 2023/24 campaign.

Gyokeres has reportedly already informed the Sporting hierarchy he intends to depart this window and is claimed to be unwilling to report back for pre-season duty.

Meanwhile Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitike has been the subject of an enquiry by United.

Another option for United is Fiorentina’s Moise Kean, who banged in 19 Serie A goals in the 2024/25 campaign.

Though Troy Deeney has told United to avoid signing the former Everton man.
