Arsenal launch €70M move for Barcelona midfielder – the player is set to surprise fans. Arsenal have already signed 5 new players and plan to sign a total of 11 this summer.

All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Arsenal as they ramp up their summer business.
Arsenal are now stepping up their transfer business with the start of pre-season fixtures less than two weeks away. The Gunners have had a busy few weeks, signing Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard and Kepa Arrizabalaga, and more incomings will follow.
Noni Madueke will sign for Chelsea, and Arsenal still need to consider additions at striker and centre-back. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Emirates Stadium.
Fabrizio Romano says Madueke will have his medical this weekend after leaving Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup camp in the United States ahead of Sunday’s final.
Romano posted on X: “Arsenal and Chelsea have now completed documents exchange for Noni Madueke deal, agreement sealed. Madueke will undergo his medical over the weekend and then sign five year deal at Arsenal. £52m deal done, as exclusively revealed yesterday.”
Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has said of Madueke: “Noni is in contact with a new club. I guess that he’s going to leave in the next hours. I said in one of the last press conferences that at the end, if players want to leave, at the end, it’s difficult for the club and for the manager. Noni decided to leave, nobody told Noni he had to leave. If he is happy, we are happy.”
Casado interest
Arsenal are said to be interested in a deal to sign Barcelona starlet Marc Casado. Casado became a key player for Barca last season, making 36 first-team appearances. CaughtOffside have reported that Casado is of interest to several Premier League clubs amid talk he could be available for a realistic price.
Casado’s asking price is said to be £86m, but there are reports he could be available for£43m. Barca boss Hansi Flick said of Casado last season: “He’s incredible. If you see him play now, if you know where he comes from… and the level now, everything has improved. He’s incredibly good defensively, also with the ball at his feet. This is La Masia. I’m very happy. Everyone sees the quality of these players. You can see it in the second half when we combined and kept possession. It’s been very good.” The 21-year-old is a defensive midfielder, and with Arsenal having already signed Martin Zubimendi, there would be questions over where – and indeed if – Casado would play in the short term.
Arsenal deal concern
Pundit Don Hutchinson says he is confused by Arsenal’s incoming £52million signing of Chelsea man Noni Madueke. He said: “I don’t understand this transfer. From an Arsenal point of view, he plays where Bukayo Saka does, so it’ll be tough for him to get games. The competition, of course, makes sense, especially if Saka is injured, but they have Ethan Nwaneri.
“His contract is running down now, and I’d have been tempted to use money earmarked for Madueke to get a deal done for Nwaneri instead.” It looks as though Arsenal will attempt to tie Nwaneri down to a new deal as well as sign Madueke.
