Medical Ongoing: £98million attacking guru is currently undergoing medical to join Arsenal after the Gunners deal for Viktor Gyokeres takes another twist- Announcement will be made tomorrow

Arsenal are reportedly close to reaching a full agreement with Sporting CP for Viktor Gyokeres and is hopeful that a deal will be finalised by this weekend.
Ben Jacobs reports that Gyokeres’ switch to the Emirates is moving closer, with the holdup being over a “small portion of the add-ons”. The Swedish striker became the club’s top number nine target after calling off a pursuit of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
Gyokeres was Europe’s top scorer last season, scoring 39 goals in 33 Liga Portugal games. There had been suggestions earlier this summer that Manchester United were an option due to his connection with their head coach, Ruben Amorim, but he made it clear that a move to the Emirates was his preference.
Arsenal Close To Completing Gyokeres Deal
The Swede is waiting to undergo his medical
Gyokeres is leaving Sporting
unceremoniously after refusing to attend pre-season training, an action that infuriated president Frederico Varandas. The two parties had disagreed over his valuation which looked to put the potential deal in doubt until the North Londoners reached a broad agreement over a total package worth €73.5m (£63.7m).
Jacobs shared the latest development in the transfer saga and how close the Sweden international is to finally joining Mikel Arteta’s side. He wrote on X:
“Arsenal now close to a full agreement with Sporting for Viktor Gyökeres. Hope is for a breakthrough over the weekend with a small portion of the add-ons still under discussion and Gyökeres waiting for permission to undergo a medical. €63.5m+€10m package broadly agreed and only small details left.”
The 27-year-old has reportedly agreed on a £200,000 per week deal and is described as a “game-changer” by Sporting boss Rui Borges, perhaps foreshadowing his role in anArsenal title challenge. He is one of several summer signings Arteta and director Andrea Berta have made to bolster their attack for another title challenge.
English winger Noni Madueke arrived from Chelsea in a £52m deal last week but they are not done there chasing new attackers.
Eberechi Eze has been on the club’s radar and the Crystal Palace attacking midfielder has reportedly agreed on personal terms with the Gunners over a potential move. They are also still monitoring Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid and have “reached out to the Brazilian’s representatives”, per GIVEMESPORT sources.
GIVEMESPORT Key Statistic: Viktor Gyokeres managed 43 goals and 17 assists in 116 games for Coventry City.
A new number nine was vital for Arteta, given his side’s troubles in front of goal and the injury crisis that ripped last season’s title challenge apart. There hasn’t been a more prolific number nine in Europe than Gyokeres, who has experience in England from his time spent at Coventry City in the EFL Championship.
