Arsenal will be without their captain Martin Odegaard until after the November international break, GiveMeSport understands.
The Gunners skipper limped off during the 2-0 win over West Ham United on October 4 and missed out on Norway’s World Cup qualifying win over Israel on Saturday as a result.
Following scans, it was revealed that the midfielder had suffered a medial collateral ligament injury and he will not return to action for the Gunners until after the November international break, with Odegaard set to miss seven crucial matches.
Speaking after the win over the Hammers, boss Mikel Arteta said: “I just spoke to him and he is not positive about it. He has got a brace on. We will have to wait for the doctors but we have been very unlucky with that.
“We have to wait and see the extent of the injury. We will have to find solutions but obviously [he] is our captain and is a player that gives us a completely different dimension with things that he can do, especially in the attack.”
So what matches will Odegaard miss?
Fulham (A)
The first match the skipper will be absent for is this weekend’s Premier League clash away at Craven Cottage.
The Gunners take on the Whites in the Saturday evening kick-off at 5.30pm live on Sky Sports, with Eberechi Eze likely to step into his more favoured No.10 role.
Atletico Madrid (H)
The return of Champions League football and Diego Simeone brings his Atletico Madrid side to the Emirates Stadium.
This is going to be one of the toughest tests Arsenal have without their skipper.
Crystal Palace (H)
This is a match Eze will now be relishing. The former Palace man will likely have the opportunity to shine in that No.10 role against the Eagles.

Brighton & Hove Albion (H)
Arsenal’s first foray into the Carabao Cup sees the Seagulls arrive in north London for the fourth round clash on Wednesday, October 29.
This is probably one of the seven games that Odegaard may ordinarily have been rested for, with Arteta looking to utilise his squad.
Burnley (A)
As we get into November, Arsenal make the long trip to Turf Moor to take on Scott Parker’s Clarets.
Providing things have gone smoothly in the league before then, Arteta will be looking to this away day to maintain their table-topping form.
Slavia Prague (A)
After a tough away trip to Burnley, Arsenal are then a\way in the Champions League, making the haul to Czechia to take on Slavia Prague.
Arteta would surely prefer to have his skipper available for a game like that.
Sunderland (A)
Arsenal make it a trio of tough-looking away days as they head north on their return to England to face Sunderland.
They will come up against former player Granit Xhaka and will miss their captain for one final time as they hope to have him back after the interntaional break which takes place following this Premier League encounter.
