“I’ve got more history to do that”: Fallon Sherrock returns to PDC World Darts Championship as she reveals her next mission

Fallon Sherrock also known The “Queen of the Palace” has qualified for the PDC World Darts Championship for the sixth time in seven years, and she is determined to make history again. Speaking to Darts World, the 31-year-old looked ahead to an important end to the year.

Sherrock had another solid season at the PDC Women’s Series. Although most of the attention in 2025 was on top talent Beau Greaves, Sherrock patiently kept up her work – with success. She won two tournaments and also reached six finals.

That earned her second place in the final ranking of the Order of Merit, more than £3,500 ahead of her nearest rival Lisa Ashton. With that, the Milton Keynes-based player secured a return to the World Championships in December.

With Greaves finishing second on the PDC Development Tour and Ashton winning the Women’s World Matchplay, no fewer than five women will be in action at this year’s World Championship in North London – a historic number. In addition to Sherrock, Greaves and Ashton, Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Gemma Hayter complete the quintet representing the ladies.

Sherrock is proud of that development. “It just goes to show how strong the ladies’ game is now”, said Sherrock to Darts World.
“The standard just keeps rising and you have to be on your game to be able to compete, and that keeps you on your toes and motivated. If you don’t play well, you’ll be out, it’s that simple. To have five female players at the World Championship is incredible, and we’ll all be looking to do well and make our mark when we get our chance to be on stage”.

The breakthrough of 2019

Sherrock’s name is forever attached to that magical moment in late 2019 at Alexandra Palace. That’s when she defeated Ted Evetts and made history as the first woman ever to win a match at the World Darts Championship.

A round later, she even knocked off top-16 player Mensur Suljovic, before finally being eliminated by Chris Dobey. Her performance went global and gave women’s darts an unprecedented boost.

In the years that followed, Sherrock proved that her success was no fluke. She reached the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam of Darts, was in the final of the Nordic Darts Masters and even threw nine darters on both the PDC Challenge Tour and the MODUS Super Series.

Form towards ‘Ally Pally’

Although her World Championship participation was certain early in the season, Sherrock remained in top form. During the final block of the Women’s Series in Wigan, she narrowly lost 5-4 to Beau Greaves twice, but did so with impressive averages of 96.16 and 95.67. “The pressure was off me in Wigan (at the Women’s Series) in the end having qualified for the Worlds earlier in the week, but I still wanted to put in some good performances, and I was pleased overall in the way that I played over the weekend”.

“We all know how good Beau is, but to lose by a leg both times and to put in averages like I did in both finals gives me confidence going forward. I know I’m not too far behind and I know I have the game to compete with Beau and many others when I’m on form”.
With now 20 Women’s Series titles to her name and a second-place finish in the Women’s World Matchplay – in which Lisa Ashton narrowly beat her – Sherrock exudes calm and confidence ahead of December.

“It didn’t go my way against Lisa, but these things happen, and I’m proud that I made another final in the end. There’s loads of positives from that for me to build on”.
“My game is in a really good place at the minute, and I’ll be looking to increase my practice in the lead-up to Ally Pally. I want to make sure I give my absolute best against whoever I play there, and I know I have to put the work in to be able to do that”.

“I don’t fear anyone, and I’ll go up on the stage and enjoy every second of it like I always do. The fans are always amazing at Ally Pally, and I can’t wait to get back on stage”.

Sherrock looks back on the stage where her dream began with warm feelings, “I’ll always have happy memories of playing at Ally Pally, and every time I go up the steps to the venue, I get goosebumps”.

“It’s such a special place, and 2019/20 will always be the one that started everything for me, but I feel like I’ve got more history to write in the future, and I’d love to have another good run there”.
