Deal hijacked: Arsenal hijack Chelsea’s top transfer target as the superstar agreed five-years contract to join Arsenal- He’s a boyhood Gunners’ fan

Arsenal are reportedly still exploring the option of signing one more attacking player before the end of the transfer window.

This update comes from respected journalist Fabrizio Romano, who says the Gunners are not done with their summer business just yet.

The north London club have already made big moves in the market with four new signings and two more on the way.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Nørgaard, and Noni Madueke have all been brought in.

Deals for Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyökeres are said to be at the final stage, with announcements expected soon.

Despite these additions, Mikel Arteta’s side want to bring in one more offensive player to strengthen the squad further.

Eze eyed as key target

Arsenal are believed to have made contact with a possible target as they try to convince him to make the switch to the Emirates.

That player is England international Eberechi Eze, who has attracted interest due to his excellent form in the 2024/25 campaign.

Eze can play in multiple roles, either as an attacking midfielder or out wide on the left, making him a flexible attacking option.

His ability to glide past defenders, pick passes, and score goals makes him a player who could bring something different to Arsenal’s final third.

The 27-year-old registered 14 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions last season under Oliver Glasner.

He also played a major role in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup triumph, helping the Eagles lift the trophy in style.

Eze reportedly has a release clause of £68 million, which Arsenal may need to trigger if they want to prise him away from Selhurst Park.

Fabrizio Romano also added that the Gunners have been keeping tabs on Xavi Simons. However, the Dutch midfielder now looks set to join Chelsea instead.

Arsenal remain determined to make their final signing count. Arteta is pushing for more attacking quality, and the club are now assessing the best route to finish their summer business.
