Arsenal’s move to land Viktor Gyokeres will be remembered as the club’s most important piece of business in years – much more than the signing of former Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
The Gunners are expected to win the race for the Swedish sensation, and an agreement with Sporting over a fee is all that is yet to be reached, according to Sky Italy’s Gianluca Di Marzio.
Gyokeres himself has already told friends and family that he expects to join Arsenal this summer, and he will follow in the path of Zubimendi, who completed a switch to the Emirates earlier in the transfer window.

Arsenal forked out £55 million to acquire the services of the Spaniard, who will likely play a prominent first-team role in the wake of Thomas Partey and Jorginho’s departures. His arrival should further improve the technical ability in the team’s midfield engine room alongside Declan Rice, and it is a very welcome addition.
