“Arsenal will win Premier League this season and here is why”: Brentford coach Thomas Frank gives a shocking reason why Arsenal will beat Liverpool to win Premier League title this season
Brentford manager Thomas Frank has faced both Liverpool and Arsenal in the Premier League this season.
The Gunners faced the Bees on New Year’s Day at the Gtech Community Stadium. It was always going to be a difficult game, but Mikel Arteta’s side managed to get the job done.
Arsenal picked up a 3-1 win against the Bees despite not being at their best. They were also missing a few big players – Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz were absent, while Declan Rice started on the bench.
That didn’t stop the North Londoners from getting the win, and Frank was impressed. He has now had his say on Arsenal’s title chances.
Thomas Frank makes a prediction about Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League title race
Liverpool are the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season.
Arne Slot has done a great job since replacing Jurgen Klopp. His side are currently six points ahead of Arsenal in the table, despite playing a game fewer.
It really is Liverpool’s title to lose at this stage, but Frank still thinks the race between Arsenal and the Merseysiders will go right to the end.
That’s because the Brentford boss feels Liverpool will drop points in the coming months in a ‘dip’ that they haven’t experienced in the season yet.
If that happens and Arsenal keep winning their games, the Gunners could be right back in it.
Frank told BBC Sport: “It’s a long season. I understand why Arne Slot is saying ‘we haven’t won anything yet’.
“Liverpool haven’t had a dip yet and that will most likely come, and Arsenal are picking up points when they’re not fully firing. It will go right to the end.”
Arsenal have one big advantage over Liverpool
Even the most optimistic Arsenal fan will admit that Liverpool are the favourites to win the title, but there’s still a lot of football left to be played.
The Reds have missed out on the Premier League on plenty of occasions in the past despite being in an advantageous position in the title race.
That could happen again this time, and Arsenal do have an advantage over the Merseysiders.
Liverpool still have away trips to Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea in the Premier League.
Arsenal have faced the above clubs away from home already. The only big away games the Gunners have left are against Manchester United and Liverpool.
We have a feeling that the game at Anfield in May is when the title race will be decided.
