BID ACCEPTED: Manchester United’s 102million bid for Ruben Amorim’s priority transfer target has been accepted as the player is set to six-years deal

Manchester United could be far from finished with transfer business this month as we approach the end of the transfer window.

This week has already been a busy one for Manchester United.

Not only is the signing of Patrick Dorgu from Lecce imminent – Dorgu is due to undergo his United medical on Thursday – but there is another deal which we await confirmation of.

This is with a deal also announced to secure the signing of Ayden Heaven from Arsenal. Heaven’s United medical is also reportedly booked, with Ineos viewing him as a first-team addition.

So these two deals are expected to be announced prior to Monday’s deadline, but there could yet be more business done with recent rumours claiming a striker could be signed.

Thomas Muller likens Mathys Tel to Arjen Robben

The past 24 hours have seen United linked heavily with a move to sign Mathys Tel. The Bayern Munich forward is out of favour under Vincent Kompany and wants to leave the club.

Interestingly after Bayern’s game on Wednesday, he seemed to wave goodbye to fans. If Tel is acquired by Ineos, it would be a special signing – as some of his teammates and former coaches have suggested.

Bayern Munich legend Thomas Muller told the Bundesliga website that he is reminded of Arjen Robben when he watches Tel play football.

“You can see that he wants to score goals – that’s a great quality. Thinking back to when Arjen Robben was playing, we used to think he should have been looking for the pass, but he was so focused on scoring and he scored a lot. Mathys should keep doing his thing: firing shots in on goal. He’s a superb finisher.”

Additionally, his former manager Thomas Tuchel also told the Bundesliga website, in a separate article, that Tel is a great finisher.

“He’s only 18 and is making the most of it at the moment. He’s always positive, always has a smile on his face and has great finishing in training and in matches.”

Despite being considered a possible future world-class striker, Tel has been used on the wings for Bayern – which could explain his plan to leave.

Tel plays like Amad Diallo

Despite Tel’s potential as a striker, it says a lot about his ability technically and physically that he has also been impressive when pushed out wide.

According to FBRef’s comparison list, Amad Diallo is actually a player who is very similar to Tel – as their stats per 90 showcase.

The pair are incredibly well matched, although if signed, Tel would be thrust right up front, ahead of Rasmus Hojlund who Amorim isn’t impressed with and also Joshua Zirkzee.

Last season shows how clinical Tel can be as he scored 10 goals and assisted six in just 1,406 minutes. An instant upgrade for United in a key position.

Now, we must wait to see if this develops beyond the initial rumours.
