BID ACCEPTED: Manchester United’s latest bid for Europe’s most valued winger had been accepted- Player has already agreed personal terms ahead of six-years deal planned to be signed today

Manchester United have made an initial approach for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres through intermediaries, Sky Sports has revealed.
The Red Devils have reportedly stepped up their long-standing interest in the Sweden international as they look to bring in a new number nine for Ruben Amorim this summer.
United are now believed to be exploring the conditions of a potential deal for Gyokeres, whom Amorim is a big admirer of from their time together at Sporting.
The ‘game-changing’ 26-year-old striker, who joined the Portuguese champions from Coventry in 2023, is said to be available for around £59m this summer.

Initial approach made for the 26-year-old
According to Sky Sports, Man United are currently assessing a number of striker options on the market, including Gyokeres, who remains a target for several clubs.
The Sweden international also has admirers at both Arsenal and Juventus, while clubs in the Saudi Pro League are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding his future in Portugal.
The 26-year-old, praised as ‘the best striker in the world’, is coming off another remarkable season with Sporting, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.
He led the Lisbon-based club to their second successive league title this season and is reportedly open to joining forces with Amorim next term.
Man United are expected to sign a striker regardless of Rasmus Hojlund’s future, as the Danish international is reportedly not considering leaving the club and is eager to fight for his place next season.
Hojlund is believed to have admirers in Italy, where he spent 12 months with Atalanta before joining Man United in August 2023.
