Elena Rybakina also cashed big on her WTA Finals triumph as the Kazakh tennis star pocketed a massive $5.2 million tournament prize money in Riyadh.
After failing to make it past the WTA Finals group stage in 2023 and 2024, Rybakina was absolutely brilliant at this year’s season-ending tournament edition and went a perfect 5-0 en route to collecting the main glory. For just appearing in Riyadh, the 26-year-old earned $335k – also $335k for each group-stage win – and then an additional $2.5 million for going all the way.
On the other side, Sabalenka also collected some nice money despite falling short in the final. The Belarusian also entered the final undefeated in Riyadh and she went home with a $2.6 million prize.
Going into the WTA Finals, Rybakina had just over $19 million in career prize money. Now, that sum stands at over $24 million.
Rybakina comments on completing a perfect 5-0 record at the WTA Finals
“Yeah, I can’t believe it. It’s an incredible achievement, and I’m so happy with the way I played here, the way I stayed focused,” the 26-year-old said on Sky Sports.
“It’s the top eight—so the best players each year. Each match was very difficult, and I managed to win all of them. It gives me so much motivation. I’m already looking forward to the rest, but of course, to improve and come strong for the next season. I didn’t know if I could maintain this level. I’m very proud of what we did with the team. I stayed focused from each match till the end. It’s an amazing achievement for me to stay so stable for the whole tournament.”
For Rybakina, this was her 11th title and the biggest one since 2022 Wimbledon.
Rybakina also gained 1,500 ranking points for winning the WTA Finals and she will enter the 2026 season ranked at No. 5 in the world.
