BID ACCEPTED: Arsenal’s £100m bid for Europe’s top scoring striker has been accepted as the player’s medical is scheduled to hold today

Arsenal are reportedly back in the race to sign Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane, who could leave the club for free this summer.

After missing out on Florian Wirtz, Bayern are keen to retain Sane, but the 29-year-old has already rejected the contract extension offer.

According to a report from The Times, Mikel Arteta is looking to sign a new winger and has identified Sane as a potential option.

Leroy Sane – the latest scenario

Earlier this month, Sky Germany reported that Arsenal had decided not to move for Leroy Sane.

The Gunners are targeting a younger profile and have been linked with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

However, Paul Joyce of The Times claims that the Gunners are now showing keen interest in Sane, who scored 13 goals and claimed six assists across competitions this season.

Bild also reported that Sane’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has held talks with Arsenal and Chelsea.

There is a high possibility that Sane, who is currently spending his holidays with his wife, Candice Brooks, in London, could move to England’s capital to stay close to his family.

Will Leroy Sane leave Bayern?

Sane is a crucial player for us, and we must strive to reach an agreement with him. Since joining us from Manchester City, he has scored 61 goals and registered 55 assists in all competitions, and has plenty to offer.

On Wednesday, Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, met with Zahavi, according to Bild, and lengthy discussions were held regarding Sane’s future.

There is a possibility that Bayern could renegotiate a deal for the 69-times capped Germany international, and the structured salary will be changed in the player’s favour.

Bayern are thought to be considering increasing the fixed salary from €10 million (£8.3m) to €12-€13 million (£10m-£10.8m) and reducing the bonuses accordingly.

Will that be enough to lure him to continue at Allianz Arena? Apart from Arsenal, London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Turkish giants Galatasaray are also interested in signing Sane.
