“If he continues making those mistakes, he’ll end up like Erik ten Hag”: Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola names TWO dangerous mistakes Amorim is always making which may likely get him sacked

Gary Neville has told manager Ruben Amorim how to improve Manchester United’s fortunes.

The Red Devils lost their seventh league game under Amorim last weekend, losing 2-0 to Crystal Palace.

United had the chance to improve their squad in the winter transfer window, but did not do much incoming business.

They signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, who is expected to play left-wing-back.

Ayden Heaven arrived from Arsenal as a first-team player, but he has yet to play a competitive first-team game.

Forward Marcus Rashford left on loan for Aston Villa, and the club could not sign a replacement.

Neville believes Amorim needs to trust the current crop of players to get more positive results.

He told the Sky Sports The Gary Neville Podcast: “I think he has got to simplify a bit.

“He might not like (Rasmus) Hojlund, he might not think (Joshua) Zirkzee is great, and he might not like other players.

“He has got to pick the players and stick with the players he has been served.

“He knew United were not going to be prolific in the January transfer window – everybody knew that before he came in. It was quite clear.

“He has lost Rashford – he has now got a left wing-back in, so he might think he is slightly better off.

Amorim dropped Hojlund and Zirkzee for the Palace game, opting to play Kobbie Mainoo in the central attacking position.

The decision revealed the Portuguese tactician’s lack of trust in Hojlund and Zirkzee, but he must find a way to get the best of the duo to change United’s attack.
