Coco Gauff reaches semi-finals at WTA Finals after defeating Swiatek

Riyadh : American female tennis star Coco Gauff has made it to the semi-finals by defeating defending champion Iga Swiatek in straight sets in the WTA finals. In the second round of Orange Group singles match held on Tuesday, both the players held serve at 3-3 in the first set.

After this, Gauff broke Swiatek’s serve twice in a row and won the first set 6-3. In the second set, both players broke each other’s serve twice in the first eight games and the score reached 4-4. After this, Gauff once again broke Swiatek’s serve and won the set 6-4.

After the match, Gauff said, ‘It was definitely a good match for me today. You know it is difficult for me to play with Iga, but I am really happy that I managed to play the whole match. In another match, Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejcikova defeated American Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-3 in a match that lasted one hour and 9 minutes.
