Our national team secured its qualification to the Main Round of the European Futsal Championship, after the completion of the 2nd matchday of the 1st group matches of the Preliminary Round.
In the last match of the 2nd matchday, Andorra defeated Estonia 2-1.
Cyprus and Andorra have six points each and both secured their qualification. In Friday’s match between Cyprus and Andorra (11:00, “Tassos Papadopoulos – Eleftheria”), it will be clear which team will pass as first and which as second.
B. Ireland and Estonia have zero points and have no hope of qualification.
A great success for our National Team who advance to the Main Round for the third consecutive event, after 2020 and 2022. Our team will know their opponents in the Main Round in the draw that will take place on May 30, 2024.
40 teams participate in the Main Round, which will be divided into ten groups of four teams. In each group there will be six matches (three at home and three away).
The first team from each group of the Main Round will qualify for the final stage while the ten runners-up will compete in play-offs to qualify another five.
The dates available for the Main Round matches are 9 to 18 December 2024, 27 January to 5 February 2025, 3 to 12 March 2025 and 7 to 16 April 2025.
