Paraguayan defender Diego Leon is expected to travel to England in July to finalise his move to Manchester United, journalist Adriano Savalli has claimed.

Man United are expected to pay a $4m (£3.1m) fixed fee plus around $1m (£800,000) in add-ons for Leon, who could soon become the club’s second summer arrival.

Diego Leon Set for Man United Move

Expected to travel to England next month.

Leon is considered one of the best South American talents in his position and was pinpointed as a prospect for the future by Man United’s South America lead scout Giuseppe Antonaccio.

While it remains to be seen whether the ‘lightning-quick’ 18-year-old will feature in the first-team squad next season, Leon already has considerable senior experience with Cerro Porteno.

The Paraguay U20 international has made 33 senior appearances for the club to date, scoring four goals, two of which came this season.

Man United are believed to be working towards another forward signing alongside Cunha, with talks at an advanced stage for Brentford ace Bryan Mbeumo.

The Cameroonian forward is said to be prioritising a move to Old Trafford this summer, despite receiving interest from Tottenham, who appointed his former coach Thomas Frank last week.
