HERE WE GO: Arsenal finally completes their last summer signing as the world-class attacker joined on five-years transfer deal- Medical already completed

Crystal Palace are considering signing Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard as a potential replacement for Eberechi Eze, journalist Steve Kay has claimed.

The Eagles could lose their highly sought-after English midfielder before the transfer deadline and are drawing up a shortlist of names who could take over playmaking duties if Eze departs.

With Arsenal targeting Eze as potentially their final summer signing, Palace are now looking to snap up Trossard from the Gunners.

However, any potential move would likely be conducted as a separate deal for accounting purposes, despite previous suggestions of a swap between the two Premier League clubs.

Arteta wants the Belgium forward to stay

According to Kay, while Mikel Arteta is open to keeping Trossard at the club this summer, Arsenal could still use the Belgian forward as bait to help secure Eze.

The Gunners are believed to be targeting a new creative forward before the transfer deadline and remain long-term admirers of Eze, who has just two years left on his Selhurst Park deal.

Trossard is under contract with Arsenal for only one more season and has been heavily linked with a move away over the past six months.

The £110,000-a-week forward made 56 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring 10 goals and providing 10 assists.

Palace are expecting a difficult task to retain both Eze and captain Marc Guehi before the window closes, with the latter still a target for Premier League champions Liverpool.

Oliver Glasner’s side have been one of the quieter clubs this summer, with goalkeeper Walter Benitez and full-back Borna Sosa their only two senior additions so far.
