Agreement reached: Striker reject Arsenal offer agree personal terms to join Manchester United on five-years transfer deal- Medical currently ongoing and announcement will hold tomorrow

Manchester United and Arsenal are both interested in signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres in the summer transfer window, but Fabrizio Romano has confirmed in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter that it remains an ‘open race’ for his signature.

Gyokeres has enjoyed an impressive season at Sporting, contributing significantly both domestically and in the Champions League. His displays have attracted the interest of clubs around Europe, and there’s a chance we could see him ply his trade in the Premier League next season.

United and Arsenal are both in the market for a new striker ahead of the summer, and Gyokeres is one of those on the market for the coming months. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have both struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford, while the Gunners were fairly blunt in attack this term.

The respected journalist also adds that United spoke to his agents once again at the weekend, but it remains an open race to secure his signature…

“It’s an open race for Gyokeres. He remains on Arsenal’s list in case the Sesko deal doesn’t happen, Man United have called his agents again over the weekend.”

Romano recently confirmed to GIVEMESPORT that United held talks to sign Gyokeres at the weekend, while a deal has become more complicated after missing out on the Champions League.
