Manchester United are eyeing a summer deal to sign Ivan Toney, and he is open to a Premier League return, according to club insider Mick Brown.
The Red Devils have been scouring the market for a new striker this summer as they look to bolster their forward line, having already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and pushing to complete a deal for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
A new number nine is seen to be a priority for the club and manager Ruben Amorim, and now a new name has emerged as being considered by club chiefs.

Toney, who currently earns around £516,000-a-week with Al-Ahli, moved to Saudi Arabia after leaving Brentford last summer in a deal worth around £40m.
He has continued to score plenty of goals while out in the Middle East, and the 29-year-old has attracted the attention of Manchester United once again this summer as a result of his performances and profile.
While speaking to Football Insider, club insider and former scout Brown has revealed that he has been told by sources that the club are keen on a deal for the England international, and he would be open to returning to the Premier League even though he’d need to take a pay cut.
“Toney is an interesting one for United. Whatever you say about him, he’s got a proven track record of scoring goals in the Premier League. He’s gone out to Saudi Arabia and continued scoring goals.
“Man United have been watching him, my sources tell me, and they think he is still capable of playing at the top level, plus he’s not even 30 yet so he’s got years left in him.
“He’s one they’ve liked for a while, even when he was at Brentford, so it might be a surprise to see them interested again but there aren’t a lot of strikers of his level available.
“From what I’m told, he would be interested in a return to the Premier League.
“He might have to take a cut from what he’s getting paid out there, but he wants to play at the highest level and United could give him that chance.
“They see him as a definite upgrade on what they’ve got, so it’s a possibility
Man Utd have been strongly linked with a move to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen, who is also keen on a move to Old Trafford, but his wage demands and the £65m release clause fee are deemed too expensive to make a deal happen currently.
Another name tipped to move to United is Viktor Gyokeres, but the Sporting CP striker has given his priority to joining Arsenal instead, which has left the Reds looking for alternative options, which is where a surprise move for Toney could come into play.
