DEAL CONFIRMED: Arsenal have rounded up the transfer window with the successful signing of Viktor Gyökeres along with two other players, and the Gunners are set to make an official announcement tonight.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal remain active in what has turned out to be a busy opening to the summer transfer window.

VAVEL delves into the latest and most reliable Gunners’ transfer rumours from the past week.

Incomings
Noni Madueke
Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea.

DEAL CONFIRMED: Arsenal have wrapped up the transfer window with the successful signing of Viktor Gyökeres along with two other players, and are set to make the announcement official tonight.

David Ornstein of The Athletic reported that the English forward has travelled back to the UK in order to finalise the deal, missing Chelsea’s Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday.

The Gunners will pay around £50 million for Madueke in a move that has brought unnecessary abuse onto the former PSV Eindhoven forward.

Mikel Arteta has shown before that he can develop players who perhaps have not realised their full potential; Madueke could be the next name on the Gunners’ boss to raise his game in North London.

Madueke should add more directness and pace to Arsenal’s attack, something that they lacked during the last campaign.

Arteta has added some crucial squad depth so far and will undoubtedly look to add some more in the coming weeks.

Viktor Gyökeres
In the last week, Arsenal have intensified their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres.

The Swedish striker has agreed on personal terms with the Gunners as per Fabrizio Romano, but the clubs are yet to see eye-to-eye on a transfer fee.

Gyökeres is assisting their Gunners in their pursuit of him by refusing to return to the Portuguese outfit’s pre-season training.

Arsenal will now hope to agree on a transfer before the club travels to Singapore for its own pre-season plans at the end of July.

There are hopes that Gyökeres will transform the Arsenal attack, and from the evidence displayed by the former Coventry man during his time in Portugal, that looks possible.

The Swedish striker has netted 97 goals in 102 appearances, an outstanding record, but will it be transferable to North London and Premier League football?
