DEAL SIGNED: Arsenal finally completes dream signing as Most wanted striker signed six-years contract

Andrea Berta has seemingly arrived at Arsenal with a plethora of ideas to improve Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Arteta would probably welcome upgrades to several areas of his Arsenal team this summer, perhaps starting with the addition of Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi to his midfield.

However, it’s Arsenal’s attack which needs the most attention given that none of Arteta’s forwards were able to hit double digits in the Premier League this season.

Kai Havertz topped the charts with nine goals in 23 games, a forward who missed a lot of the season after undergoing surgery on his hamstring.

Of course, the Gunners want to sign a striker, and whilst Arsenal are looking at Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko predominantly, a new name is now on the table at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal seriously interested in Julian Alvarez
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Arsenal are now interested in signing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.

Premier League fans will know Alvarez very well from his days at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola, a striker who often thwarted Arsenal’s success.

The Argentina international only moved to Atletico last summer, however, Liverpool and Arsenal are said to be monitoring his situation closely in Spain.

Alvarez has scored 29 goals in 54 games for Diego Simeone’s side this season, and he appears very happy from the outside looking in.

However, the report insists that Berta himself is pushing Arsenal’s interest, a player who has been put among his ‘priorities’ for next season.

That being said, Alvarez isn’t keen on a return to the Premier League according to the same report — he’s comfortable in Madrid and he’s thriving for Atletico.

Lionel Messi’s glowing Julian Alvarez review
Speaking in 2022 when Alvarez was still playing for Man City, Lionel Messi had strong praise for his compatriot whilst en route to the World Cup final.

The pair were starring for Argentina in Qatar, a tournament Alvarez and Messi went on to win.

And following Argentina’s 3-0 victory over Croatia in their semi-final, Messi labelled Alvarez’s efforts as ‘extraordinary’.

Messi said: “Today Julian is a standout above all, he played an extraordinary game, he opened the game up, he found everyone. He deserves the award for best player of the match.”

Of course, Arsenal were interested in Alvarez last summer before Atletico signed him for £82m.

And whilst it seems unlikely that the former Man City star will head back to England, he would undoubtedly be a brilliant addition were Berta able to pull it off.
