DONE DEAL: Arsenal finally completes first summer transfer signing as striker joins on five-years deal and his shirt number has been revealed

Arsenal have gathered extensive information on Benjamin Sesko’s situation at RB Leipzig and could sign him for less than €100m (£84m) this summer, Fabrizio Romano has reported.

The Gunners have earmarked the Slovenia international as one of their top targets to play at number nine under Mikel Arteta next season and have already learned what it would take to bring Sesko to the Emirates.

Romano claims Arsenal are already aware of the potential contract terms and Leipzig’s demands, which are believed to be lower than his previously reported €100m price tag.

Although nothing has been agreed at this stage, conversations between the parties are ongoing as Sesko remains high on the North London club’s shortlist of strikers.

Yet to reach an agreement with Leipzig

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, revealed that Arsenal have learned about Sesko’s exit terms from Leipzig ahead of a potential summer move:

“Arsenal started to understand the whole situation around Sesko.

“Contract terms, player value in terms of what RB Leipzig want, and I’m told that could be less than the reported 100 million euros.

“So the conversation was ongoing. Now, still nothing agreed as of today.”

Sesko was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates last summer before he penned a new four-year deal with Leipzig until June 2029.

The ‘incredible’ Slovenia international has enjoyed his career-best season in Germany this term, scoring 21 goals and providing six assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Arsenal are also believed to have earmarked Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres as another option at striker and were linked with a move last month.

Gyokeres is expected to leave Portugal this summer and is reportedly evaluating his options at the moment, with Arsenal and Manchester United both among his admirers.
