Done Deal: Arsenal has just completed another big-name transfer signing as aggressive striker signed five-years deal with the Gunners

Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, and a report from CNN Portugal has now claimed that he’s already packing his bags ahead of a move.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Sunday that Arsenal were advancing in talks to sign Sporting centre-forward Gyokeres, with a deal getting closer for the Swedish international to make his return to England. Gyokeres has previously plied his trade in England before, scoring goals for Coventry City, which earned him a move to Portugal with Sporting.
Since then, Gyokeres has become one of the most consistent goalscorers in Europe, and he’s attracted interest from a host of clubs during the summer transfer window. If he were to officially join Arsenal this summer, Gyokeres could earn in the region of £200,000-a-week, with reports claiming that a deal is in place.
Gyokeres ‘Checking in Luggage’ Ahead of Arsenal Move
Could cost around £69m
According to a report from CNN Portugal, Gyokeres is already packing his bags ahead of a potential move to the Gunners, with the powerful forward ‘checking in luggage’ as Arsenal close in on another summer signing. Arsenal reportedly came to Lisbon at the end of last week, and they left with almost everything in place to secure a deal with Sporting. The final fee could be in the region of €80m (£69m), with €65m (£56m) coming up front.
If all goes well, it looks as though Arsenal could finally have their new centre-forward ahead of the 2025/2026 season, and we’ll likely see Gyokeres leading the line for Arteta. Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Mikel Merino were all utilised in the striker position last term, but partly due to injuries, Arsenal didn’t have a consistent number nine scoring regularly, a crucial reason behind their failures in the Premier League title race.
