Arsenal could add Leroy Sane to their ranks in the coming weeks, with his Bayern Munich contract set to come to an end at the start of July – with reports suggesting that the Gunners are ‘back in the race’ to land the Germany international.
The Gunners could spend £300million this summer under new director Andrea Berta, with the Italian transfer guru being brought in to aid their summer spending spree – and he could move for Sane with his future being uncertain thanks to delayed talks with the Bundesliga outfit.

The German winger has been exceptional this season but his future remains uncertain.
The report by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg states that Bayern are sticking to their offer to Sane, which is around €15.5million (£13million) per year in wages – with no signing-on fee, and a contract running until 2028 – with his current terms seeing him rake in £324,000-per-week.
However, the Gunners are ‘back in the race’ to tie him down to a contract once his current deal runs out at the end of June, and although other English clubs are waiting for his decision, the Gunners being specifically named means that they’re likely to be at the front of the queue.
Bayern are counting on the fact that Sane has publicly stated that he wants to stay, and sporting director Max Eberl has stated that Sane and his agency ‘know what the club want, and know the conditions’ of a potential deal.
Sane has recorded a ‘frightening’ season for Bayern in the Bundesliga, notching 11 goals for the club in what is his fifth season in Germany – and with 61 games in 220 games, it could see his spell in Bavaria come to an end.
The rapid winger had a strong spell at Manchester City, winning eight trophies in his three full seasons at the Etihad Stadium alongside 39 goals in just 135 appearances under Pep Guardiola, before moving back to his homeland.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are looking for competition for Bukayo Saka, having seen the England star ruled out for the majority of 2025 with an injury to his hamstring; and with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard both faltering at times throughout the campaign, he’d give them much-needed depth to finally land the Premier League trophy.
