DONE DEAL: Manchester United finally complete the signing of fans’ favourite striker who’s viewed as the next Wayne Rooney ‐ He’s given a legendary squad number

Manchester United have been linked with a plethora of players this summer across various positions but so far, they have wrapped up only two deals – Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.
The Red Devils are closing in on signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
The club have been behind the Cameroonian international for a while now, looking to reach an agreement with Brentford to bring him to Old Trafford.
Now that they have effectively closed that deal, it might be time to move to other targets.
One other player Man Utd are said to have an agreement with this summer is Valencia midfield star Javi Guerra.
We covered a story a few days ago, as per journalist Daniele Longo, that the Red Devils were close to signing the £21.5million player.
Now, as per the same Calciomercato journalist, Javi Guerra is not considering a renewal with La Liga club Valencia and the versatile midfielder is waiting on his agreement with Man Utd.
However, the Red Devils need to reach a club-to-club agreement with the Spanish club.
A versatile midfield presence
The 22-year-old Spaniard is a versatile midfield presence, capable of playing as a #6, #8 and a #10 and he has the technical ability that personifies La Roja midfielders.
He has been one of the better players of Valencia for some time now. One thing that immediately strikes you about Javi Guerra is his intelligence.
He has brilliant spatial awareness, which might be what makes him play in multiple positions, and his ability on the ball makes him a very solid base midfielder to build the team around.
At Man Utd, Guerra can play in multiple positions. He can replace one of Casemiro or Manuel Ugarte in defensive midfield but can also play as an attacking midfielder if there is a necessity.
For Ruben Amorim, he provides a lot of tactical flexibility.
Although AC Milan is another club interested in the player, it does feel at this point that Man Utd are ahead in the race for Javi Guerra.
It remains to be seen how things play out on this front and if the Spaniard wears a Red Devils jersey next season.
