According to GIVEMESPORT sources, United will need to quickly sanction at least one big-name departure to accelerate their pursuit of Gyokeres, who remains Amorim’s preferred striker target this summer.

The Sweden international, praised as ‘Europe’s most-wanted striker’, is attracting widespread interest following another prolific season in Portugal, and United fear they must act swiftly to beat the competition for his signature.

The Red Devils have yet to offload any of their high earners, with Bruno Fernandes turning down a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal this week, and Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho yet to attract concrete offers.

United are prioritising attacking reinforcements early in the transfer window and are expected to bring in another versatile forward after striking a deal for Wolves star Matheus Cunha.
