DONE DEAL: Striker snubs Chelsea and Manchester United’s transfer, agreed terms to join Arsenal as Gunners agree a huge transfer fee to land the superstar

Ruben Amorim, in his half-season in charge of Manchester United, so far has shown that he is not afraid to make brave decisions.
One of the first calls that the Portuguese tactician made as Man Utd coach was to remove Marcus Rashford from contention.
One of the first calls that the Portuguese tactician made as Man Utd coach was to remove Marcus Rashford from contention.
By the end of the season, this became a pattern. For the last Premier League game of the season, the ex-Sporting CP coach left out both Alejandro Garnacho and Andre Onana from the matchday squad, almost as if he was sending a message.
The goalkeeping position has been an issue at Man Utd ever since David de Gea left the club and it looks like a new goalkeeper could come in to replace Onana this summer. One player the club is interested in is Roma shot-stopper Mile Svilar.
As per Team Talk, Man Utd are advancing in their efforts, and the player is willing to move to Old Trafford. Svilar has been impressive for Roma and at 25, he is yet to enter what are usually considered the prime years of a goalkeeper.
As per Caught Offside, Roma could look to sell the Serbian shot-stopper for around £29.5m this summer. However, is Svilar the goalkeeper Man Utd need and would he be an upgrade on the existing options – Onana and Bayindir?
Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Bayern Munich and Monaco are all interested in signing the goalkeeper. Thus, if Man Utd do want him, they will need to fight off competition and get the player to agree to a transfer.
Svilar is an absolute unit in the goal, and he has proven his ability. However, Man Utd should be looking at a more established goalkeeper who is able to add immediate quality to the team and also be a leader and organizer of the backline.
It remains to be seen what Man Utd think about this potential signing and if they make a strong move to sign Mile Svilar. As things stand, it is not one the club should explore. Only time will tell if the Serbian is seen wearing a Red Devils jersey next season.
