ARSENAL NEWS: Gyokeres join Arsenal, Thomas Partey agreed new deal, Martinelli to leave and three more players set to join Arsenal today

Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr have discussed the possibility of signing Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli this summer, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.

Al-Nassr have their sights on recruiting a specialist left winger. Liverpool ace Luis Diaz has been their top target since the start of the summer transfer window.

The Saudi giants are ready to pay more than £73 million for the Colombian ace, but it is unclear whether he would consider a move at this stage of his career.

Amidst this, they are weighing up alternative options. Jacobs claims that Arsenal’s Martinelli has been discussed as a possible target for the Riyadh-based outfit.

Arsenal should not part ways with Martinelli
The 24-year-old has been a mainstay for the Gunners with 225 appearances in all competitions.

The Brazilian was not at his best last season with only 16 goal contributions from 51 appearances.

However, he had a good end to the campaign. Martinelli scored the second goal at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final.

The Ituano graduate also led the comeback league draw versus Liverpool at Anfield with a quality headed goal. Martinelli still has plenty to offer in the club’s shirt in years to come.

The Gunners are reportedly open to offers of more than £50 million for the winger as they seek to bring in a marquee left-sided winger to bolster the squad ahead of next season.

However, we believe the club should focus on offloading Trossard if they were to choose between the two. Martinelli has just turned 24 and has the prime of his career ahead of him.

Trossard was on the radar of Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad last summer. Arsenal turned down £30m for his services, but could be open to accepting a similar package this time around.
