Finally Done: Arsenal reached a total agreement to make their final signing of the summer as the superstar arrives in London to complete his medical today
Arsenal are still considering a move to sign Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer, despite his release clause expiring at midnight on Friday, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Gunners have had a busy summer transfer window with Mikel Arteta looking to take his squad up a level to finally end their Premier League title drought, which stretches back to 2004, with the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres confirmed.
But the north London club are still looking at a move for England international Eze, despite the revelation that his release clause is about to expire.

Eze, who has been described as a “superstar”, has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, but despite talks being held between all parties no formal offer has materialised yet.
Fans have been speculating that a deal could be off now too, with Eze’s clause set to expire and Palace not likely to want to lose such a key player so close to the start of the Premier League season.
However, Jacobs has revealed that Arsenal have informed Palace that they never had any intention of triggering the release clause and they are hopeful of being able to strike an agreement for less than that anyway, so the clause expiring makes no difference to their interest.
Arsenal have held talks with Eze and the 27-year-old playmaker wants to join the club after conversations with Andrea Berta and Arteta, and it’s believed that personal terms will be no issue if a deal can be agreed between clubs.
Palace have made it clear to interested clubs that they want at least £35m up front as an initial payment in any deal, with the remainder of the fee paid off in the following two years. Arsenal are hopeful of being able to do a deal worth around £55m.
