HERE WE GO: Arsenal agree transfer fee to sign another superstar after Gyokeres’ transfer as the player is set to be announced with Gyokeres in the next few days

Arsenal may not be done with their spending in the summer transfer window, despite news on Tuesday suggesting that they are close to getting a deal over the line for Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres – with a report stating that a deal could ‘accelerate’ for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze in the coming weeks.

Eze has seen his profile increase massively in previous months, becoming a gamechanger and a huge reason for Palace and England’s rise in success in tournaments. That is the profile Arsenal need, and despite recent movements elsewhere, the Gunners may make the final move in the form of a bid for the London-born playmaker.

Mikel Arteta is by no means done spending just yet

The report by Football Insider states that Arsenal are ‘accelerating’ their plans to sign Eze, despite the addition of Noni Madueke from Chelsea earlier this month.

Madueke’s £52million switch from their London rivals was confirmed on Friday, and with a move for Sporting talisman Gyokeres given the ‘Here We Go!’ treatment by esteemed journalist Fabrizio Romano, it’s clear that Mikel Arteta is looking to boost his attacking ranks in a bid to win either, or both of the Champions League and Premier League trophies next season.

With Cristhian Mosquera also set to join from Valencia, their squad has been bulked out and many believe that spending will now come to an end after bolstering their squad in five different positions this summer.

But, according to Football Insider sources, their spending doesn’t mean that Arteta has ended his interest in signing Eze. Attacking depth was a huge reason why the Gunners went trophy-less last season, finishing 10 points behind Liverpool in the league and failing to lay a serious glove on Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals. And the Spanish boss is not content with just Madueke and Gyokeres, with a move for Eze now ‘accelerating.’

The England international, named ‘elite’ for his outstanding season for Palace, has 34 goals and 23 assists in just 146 games for the south London-based Eagles, including a goal in each of the final three rounds of the FA Cup as they won their first-ever major honour.
